Rosanna is a Swiss multidisciplinary artist based between Nayarit, Mexico and Switzerland. Through mediums of sound, printmaking, glass, and installation she explores the visible and invisible threads through which we communicate and are connected. She investigates consciousness in the form of frequency and form, drawing inspiration from both scientific and theological frameworks.
At 30, she opened herself to music and created first album “Mother Tongue”. Rosanna’s songs typically weave many different worlds together, and are grounded in presence and poetic vulnerability. Collaboration with Portuguese bass player Penthesilea and many years of living in New York informed the eclectic blend of Soul, Funk, Electronic Pop, Spoken Word, Trip-hop, and RnB that is “Mother Tongue”. Her upcoming album traces Rosanna’s innate curiosity all the way to India, the Brazilian Amazon, Mexico, and echoes childhood memories of country music.
Rosanna is intent on cultivating a deeper sense of listening in the making and presenting of her music. She is interested in the voice as a bridge for spiritual connection. Her Intimate yet expansive sound longs to be presented in resonant spaces, multi-layered, textured, and alive, such as churches, woodlands and bath houses.
Rosanna has begun to facilitate vocal meditations where the voice is explored as an intstrument that goes beyond singing, one that bridges self and other, and our nature with “nature”. She is currently a student of Silivia Nakkach’s Yoga of the Voice program.
